I despise it when people use this “argument,” even the people who are supposedly “pro-gay marriage” (the ones who go “I don’t care if someone wants to marry their ice cream/dog/car; it doesn’t affect me,”) because they are missing the point.
Can ice cream sign a binding legal document? Is a dog mentally competent to consent to a contract? (Actually, I can think of a few married heterosexuals who shouldn’t be able to do either, as well.)
Why are these people allowed to exist?
